Atletico de Madrid Success is Really Good For La Liga

The Best Thing for La Liga is That Atletico were Crowned Champions

Atletico’s brilliant season is really good for La Liga not only because they were the underdog but also because they deserved it. Diego Simeone’s eleven warriors on the pitch have truly been an inspiring team.

Why is Atletico’s inspiring run good for La Liga though? Well! Simply to spice things up; La Liga has gotten so predictable in recent years as being a two horse race where either Real Madrid or Barcelona took the crown home. But not this time; the 2013/2014 season will be one to remember as a truly exciting and inspiring one.

The dramatic draw at the Camp Nou 1-1 against Barca was a reminder of how the last matches of La Liga have been. Drama or suspense is the right word. With the bottom teams fighting hard against relegation to stay alive on first division and the top teams dropping points when they needed them the most created the right recipe for a Hollywood movie ending.

Wake up! There is a new horse in town.

Atletico de Madrid deserves all the accolades and great compliments from fans around the world. Not only was the team supposed to run out of gas somewhere in mid season but also they were not expected to snatch the silverware from the big guys. At the most a really good run is what was expected, as it has been the norm from previous years.

That is why they call it the beautiful game!

However, this time the difference was made with an inspiring coach who celebrated each of Atletico’s goals as he did when he was a player himself. Diego Simeone is a true champion that found the right words to fuel his team for victory.

At half time Atletico was losing 1-0 to Barca, which meant losing La Liga. But whatever was said in those fifteen minutes in the locker room motivated the Atletico players to come out like shooting cannons while not giving its opponents an inch of space and the opportunity to breathe.

The one goal Atletico needed to tie the game and win La Liga came in the second half. Rarely a championship is decided in the last match by the two teams going head to head to lift the trophy. At the end Atletico de Madrid were hungry enough to take the silverware home. Their successful run this season is the best thing that has happened to La Liga.

Is La Liga the most exciting this year?

La Liga is always exciting!

How could it not be? The bumps Atletico, Barca and Real Madrid have faced in their last matches have automatically created an exciting final at the Camp Nou.

Real Madrid gave up in La Liga race too early; after mauling Bayer Munich in the Champions League Semis, Los Blancos felt into an ecstasy of emotions and forgot to compete aggressively in their next campaigns.

Barca might be like the kid who has behaved badly and did not prepare for the test and for that reason does not deserve to win the championship. However, Barca not only has football but also individual stars capable of changing the course of a game in an instant.

Atletico what did you do? You were on the right track to lift La Liga trophy without contest. But now a lost at the Camp Nou could shatter that dream apart.

The next match between Barca and Atletico will be like a Champions League Final. The reason for that is simple; Barca must win in order to be crowned champions. Atletico must contain Barca’s attack and just a tie or win would allow them to take the trophy home.

Exciting stuffs no doubt but how did this happen? Not only have some key players and game changers suffered injuries that have kept them on the sidelines but also the fear of relegation has been a factor.

Yep! The little fellows on the bottom of the table do not want to go to Second Division. As a result they have put an extra effort on the pitch against the big guys. As it should always be; the teams at the bottom have been playing fiercely to stay alive for next season, and that situation has made a must watch final.

It truly has been an unpredictable liga not led by the usual two horses Barca and Madrid. Atletico has demonstrated that with discipline and willingness they too can taste the juice of victory.

Real Madrid Has Revived Barca

Real Madrid has Revived Barca who was on the way out trophy less this season. However, Los Blancos tied 1-1 against Real Valladolid means that FC Barcelona depends on itself to win La Liga.

It’s incredible that Barca’s great enemy has revived them and given them a unique opportunity to win silverware. Perhaps Barca players and staff were at the beach or they were already planning for next season searching for a new coach. But Real Madrid came in and yelled ‘Hey you can still win La Liga’

Barca must react to this opportunity and go with the winning mindset in order to walk away with six points in their next two games. Though the Blaugrana has been inconsistent, they have great players and individual talent capable of turning the table around.

Real Madrid has given up on La Liga and Atletico Madrid has shoot themselves on the foot by losing against Levante as well. Atletico has 88 points, Barca has 85, and Real Madrid 84. This is exciting because Atletico is playing their last match against Barca at Camp Nou.

It is too good to be true for Barca that their archrival has told them to get up and go win La Liga. But it will not be easy for Barca as they must defeat Atletico; a tough competitor that eliminated them from the Champions League.
