Real Madrid and Manchester United Set Attendance Record

It has been said time and again that soccer is not popular in the United States but it seems that the opposite is true. Real Madrid and Manchester United set an attendance record of 109,318 fans and that implies that the beautiful game has arrived in this corner of the world.

It is true that the popularity of soccer (football/futbol call it what you wish) is not as popular as the NFL  (Not For Long) or the MLB (Most Likely Boring) games but it is fair to say that there are plenty of fans all over the USA that enjoy the world’s game despite some toothless trolls that seem to deny it.

The Major League Soccer is getting attendance and momentum with the signing of legendary players. Teams like DC United, Portland Timber and Seattle Sounders have quite some crazy faithful fans. The passion of these followers for the beautiful game is truly impressive as it is undeniable.

Even though it was just a preseason match between Real Madrid and Manchester United the showcase of skills by these footballers was fantastic. Indeed, a great game and a rare opportunity to catch a glimpse at players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney among other top players from both clubs.

Anyhow, the beautiful game continues with its global dominance and the US of A could become a powerhouse one day. The USMNT did really well by coming out of the group of death in Brazil; though that’s old news, it’s still something impressive to think about.

It is not true that 100,000 fans came to see Javier Hernandez ‘el chicharito’ though the trolls might say that was the case!

FIFA should pay attention to the fan base in North America because it is time to bring the World Cup to this part of globe.
