Cristiano Ronaldo Considering Move to MLS

Cristiano Ronaldo to play in MLS… Really?

Ronaldo's move across the pond any time soon is unlikely but sources have mentioned that the Real Madrid ace is considering MLS in the future. If that were true that would be really good not only for the brand of the Portuguese icon but also for Major League Soccer.

Many former footballers of the elite clubs in Europe have found the MLS a great place to end their careers but none of them are of Ronaldo’s caliber. It is what it is; we have seen great players like David Beckham, Kaka, Pirlo and recently Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard but they are not as gifted and talented as CR7 is.

Similarly, In 2007 David Beckham packed his bags to move to the MLS to play for L.A Galaxy. It was a great move for the Englishman but also for the league. At that time Becks was carrying the torch for the beautiful game as his time was up in Europe but new doors opened for him in the US of A. He has been a great ambassador for the game and MLS keeps on growing at a fast pace.

Cristiano Ronaldo would definitely receive a warm welcome from soccer fans across the U.S., His current team Real Madrid has roughly 450 million fans globally and according to the club’s director of Institutional Relations, Emilio Butragueño, most visits to their website come from the US of A. That is an interesting note that the Portuguese should consider for his career and brand.

If he were seriously considering an MLS career move I would volunteer to bring the contract myself to him so he can sign it right away. He is just that good.
